A strategic document which addresses the crucial role of the union in the digital transition of AI at work was presented during the meeting. Among the GWU’s strategies are upskilling and reskilling initiatives so that workers can acquire digital and technical skills, as well as redesigning job roles to incorporate AI.
The plan includes clear targets focused on several pillars, including strengthening professional training, safeguarding workers’ rights in the digital era, and creating an ethical framework for the use of AI at work.
During the meeting, Dr Camilleri spoke about the need to be increasingly proactive in this field, as the transformative power of AI and autonomous technologies is rapidly reshaping both the economic and social fabric of our society.
