The Department of Systems and Control Engineering within the Faculty of Engineering is pleased to announce a new Award in Control Engineering. This flexible online programme is designed for professionals working in automation, robotics, and control who wish to strengthen their knowledge and advance their careers.
The Award provides a solid foundation in both continuous-time and discrete-time control systems. Participants will learn how to model dynamic systems using transfer functions and state-space methods, evaluate stability and performance, and design controllers such as PID and state feedback regulators. The course places particular emphasis on practical applications across industries including semiconductor manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, food and beverage, maritime, and water treatment.
Hands-on learning is supported through simulations and projects using MATLAB and Simulink, enabling participants to enhance their problem-solving and technical communication skills. Offered as part of the MSc in Intelligent Systems, Signals and Control, the Award reflects the Department鈥檚 strong focus on intelligent systems and applied engineering.
