Dr Felicity G. Attard, Senior Lecturer in the Department of International Law, was invited to address the International Law of the Sea Academy in Istanbul.
This annual event is organised by Kadir Has University in conjunction with a consortium of academic institutions including the Centre for International Law of the University of Singapore and the National Centre for the Sea and Maritime Law in Ankara.
Dr Attard dealt with the growing field of the recognition and enforcement of human rights at sea beyond national jurisdiction.
Her interventions were followed by an insightful Q&A session.
The Academy brought together a congregation of academics, diplomats, practitioners, and university students from over 20 States.
