The Institute of Aerospace Technologies has secured research funding under the FUSION R&I Technology Development Programme which is managed by the Malta Council for Science and Technology (MCST). This funding will go towards the TOUCHFLIGHT2/ePM (R&I-2015-015-T) research project which will be a collaboration between the University of Malta and QuAero Ltd., a local aviation consultancy company. The total funding for this project is €190,182.
TOUCHFLIGHT2/ePM will build on the concepts developed during a previous R&I project called TOUCHFLIGHT (R&I-2012-065) and will also propose novel concepts for the interaction between pilots and avionic systems based on the use of touch and speech technologies. The project will start in February 2016 and will have a duration of 28 months. The project will be coordinated by Prof. Ing. David Zammit Mangion and Dr Jason Gauci from the Institute of Aerospace Technologies.
