The University of Malta, through the Institute of Aerospace Technologies, recently participated in an exhibition organised at Casa dell鈥橝viatore in Rome. The purpose of this exhibition was to demonstrate various aerospace technologies developed by partners of the ACROSS research project. As part of this project, the University of Malta developed a new application that assists pilots to avoid hazardous weather during the departure phase of flight. This application was demonstrated successfully during the two-day exhibition to members of the project consortium, external industry experts, as well as the general public.
ACROSS is a research and development project co-funded by the European Commission under the Seventh Framework Programme with the main objective of developing novel technologies to reduce crew workload in the flight deck environment. The consortium consists of 35 partners from 12 different European countries. The project is being led by Thales and will come to an end in June this year. More information about the ACROSS project can be found at .
