Students or graduates in science or mathematics, who are searching for a fulfilling and challenging career and would like to share their passion for science or mathematics are being offered an excellent option.
This year, the University of Malta鈥檚 Department of Mathematics and Science Education within the Faculty of Education is launching its Master in Teaching and Learning with specialization in Science or Mathematics education. The two-year course will replace the PGCE and the B.Ed.(Hons.) degrees for entry to the teaching profession.
Entry requirements include a first degree in Biology or Chemistry or Physics or Mathematics, a pass in a language proficiency test and a number of hours spent in an educational setting (an Educational Encounter).
The new Master in Teaching and Learning meets contemporary needs and practices aimed at developing teachers who are enthusiastic, motivated and competent educators, able to integrate scientific concepts with teaching and learning strategies, and who are able to provide students with a worthwhile and relevant experience of science and mathematics.
An information meeting is being held on Wednesday 16 March 2016 at noon at the Science Lecture Theatre, University of Malta.
