Dr Peter Mayo, Professor and Head of the Department of Arts, Open Communities and Adult Education, Faculty of Education, has just been appointed Visiting Professor, for the period October 2016 - September 2018, at University College London (UCL) where he will be attached to the Department of Education, Practice and Society, Institute of Education, UCL. The invitation letter was provided by Professor Michael Arthur, President and Provost of UCL.
In 2014, Professor Mayo was also a Visiting Professorial Fellow at the Institute of Education, University of London for a five month period (March-July). He has also been a member of the Collegio Docenti for the Dottorato di Ricerca programme in Scienze della Formazione and Educazione Continua, Università degli Studi di Verona, a position he holds until the present day. He was previously member of the Collegio Docenti for the Dottorato di Ricerca programme in Educazione e Sociologia Interculturale, Università degli Studi di Messina.
He is currently also an Associate Academic of the University of Glasgow for the Erasmus Mundus International Master in ‘Adult Education and Social Change’ which will be kicked off with a graduate introductory seminar he delivers at the Scottish university in September this year. He was previously Visiting Professor at the Universities of Alberta (twice – 1996, 2007) and British Columbia – UBC (2010) in Canada, University of Cyprus (2008), Bogazici University, Istanbul (2009) and University of Gdansk, Poland (2014).
