The Royal Institution of Naval Architects, RINA, UK accredits the undergraduate Structural Mechanics and Thermo-Fluids Engineering Stream in the B.Eng. (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering Degree Course
Mr Trevor Blakely, CEO of the Royal Institution of Naval Architects, RINA, UK, has presented the certificate of course re-accreditation (2015-2019) to the University for the undergraduate Structural Mechanics and Thermo-Fluids Engineering Stream in the B.Eng. (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering.
The collaboration between the University of Malta and the Royal Institution of Naval Architects commenced in 2009, with the introduction of the first study units in Maritime Engineering in the undergraduate B.Eng. (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering. The course was first accredited in 2010 and has successfully gained re-accreditation until 2019. The accreditation enables the graduate students attain corporate membership in this internationally renowned professional institution.
Accreditation also enables the B.Eng. (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering to be listed in the Maritime Courses Directory alongside all other RINA accredited international .
Annually, RINA also presents to students, undertaking a Maritime Engineering related final year project, the RINA Student Naval Architect Award for the best maritime project. Additionally, Certificates of Achievement are also presented to the students who have also within this field of study.
