Living the Vision merges interesting stories with informative statistics to create an engaging experience for readers.
Malta’s landscape has changed, and the University with it. The University grew substantially over the past years. At present, it has some 12,000 students and almost 2,700 staff. In Malta and abroad, there are now some 40,000 graduates of the University of Malta. Some of them have gone on to read for Master degrees or a Ph.D., while others have launched their own companies. The graduates’ possibilities are endless, from high-tech 3D printing, to game design, to the reinvention of traditional discount services. University institutions such as Knowledge Transfer Office, Centre for Entrepreneurship and Business Incubation and TAKEOFF act as catalysts to this progress.
To keep up with the quick growth and rapid development, the University of Malta relies on external sources of funding. It attracted over 36 million Euro over the last 10 years for research alone. EU funds, covering structural improvements like the €17.3 million Euro ICT building in 2013, or €8 million Euro for IT ¸£ÀûÔÚÏßÃâ·Ñ in 2011 have been essential for the University’s development. Living the Vision gives an overview of many of these improvements and details about some very special new labs and equipment. The University has already earmarked a master plan for new buildings, refurbished structures, and improved teaching, research, entrepreneurship and public engagement.
