Forty citizens and experts were invited to design research scenarios for the future of Europe during a recent workshop organised by The Edward de Bono Institute at the University of Malta. This is one of the aims of , a with 29 partners in 30 European countries. This project is coordinated by The Danish Board of Technology Foundation in Copenhagen.
‘We are pleased to see that the workshop attracted a great deal of attention locally,’ Professor Sandra M. Dingli, the local project coordinator at the University of Malta said. ‘It was interesting to watch people from different backgrounds and age groups discuss their hopes, fears, concerns and dreams for the future of Europe’, she further stated.
The research scenarios utilised a bottom-up approach and built on previous workshops which were also conducted in thirty European countries. The results will be communicated to the European Commission in December 2016 and they are expected to influence future policy making.
There is still the possibility for those who were unable to participate in the Malta workshops to contribute to this exciting project. An online survey is accessible concurrently and this may be accessed at the following until Wednesday 19 October 2016.
