The opening of the academic year of the University of the Third Age was held at San 臓or摹 Preca Hall at the Catholic Institute in Floriana, on Friday 7 October.
A mass celebrated by the Vicar General Rev. Joseph Galea Curmi was followed by the official opening for this academic year. Mr Martin Diacono, President of the Association of the members of U3A delivered the welcome speech. This was followed by an address by Dr Carmen Sammut, Pro-Rector for Students & Staff Affairs and Outreach at the University of Malta.
A message from Prof. Joseph Troisi, Director of U3A, in his absence, was read by Mr Joseph Said, Assistant to Director U3A.
The closing speech was delivered by the Hon. Justyn Caruana, Parliamentary Secretary for Rights of Persons with Disability and Active Aging.
