The Annual Meeting and Graduation Ceremony of the Erasmus Mundus LCT Master Programme was held at the University of Malta Valletta Campus on 24/25 May 2017.
During this 2-year Master Programme, focused on Human Language Science and Technology, and running since 2007, students attend at least two universities of the LCT Consortium. This is a group of mainly EU universities coordinated by the University of Saarland and also includes Malta (Department of AI, Institute of Linguistics and Language Technology), Trento, Prague (Charles University), Lorraine, Basque Country, Melbourne, and Shanghai (Jiao Tong).

The meeting was attended by around 70 participants, including students and faculty representatives from all partners, invited speakers from academia and industry, and graduands from the previous edition of the course.
The graduation ceremony, conducted with the help of the Registrar鈥檚 Office, included interventions from Rector, Prof. Josef van Genabith (University of Saarland) and a student representative (Ms Esther van den Berg).
Three graduands from the University of Malta (Aitor Martinez-Egurcegui, Ngoc-Quan Pham, Ionut-Teodor Sorodoc) received their Diplomas from the Rector, at the ceremony attended also by the Dean of ICT and the Director of the Institute of Linguistics and Language Technology. Finally, all ten graduands received the Erasmus Mundus Diploma Supplement from the Programme Coordinator and representatives of all LCT partners. The event was supported by the EU, the Ministry of Finance and the University of Malta.
