The Department of Management and the Faculty of Economics, Management and Accountancy have recently run and concluded the April-May 2017 edition of HNU Neu Ulm University鈥檚 MBA International Extension Programme. This intensive two-week programme of applied management masterclasses, seminars and industry visits, run bi-annually, rides on the back of a long-standing alliance and ongoing collaboration between the University of Malta鈥檚 Department of Management and HNU鈥檚 Department of Business and Economics.
Over the two-week period, the German MBA participants were also engaged in an extended strategy live case study. This practice-based business project consisted of meetings, analysis and direct interaction with the top management team of a collaborating case organisation, addressing challenges and dynamic realities, and finally presenting a strategic review, findings and recommendations to the company鈥檚 board and management.
During this edition, , Malta鈥檚 foremost winery, currently led by the fourth generation, was the enterprise partner for the strategy live case study. The Department of Management takes the opportunity to thank Delicata鈥檚 top management team for the active participation in this strategy exercise geared towards creating mutual value and opportunities for critical insight and learning.
Other scheduled industry visits included Methode Electronics, Actavis and Foster Clark.
Accompanied by their professors, the profile of this edition鈥檚 international cohort of HNU MBA participants, hailing from Germany, included executives employed at international blue chip companies such as Daimler AG, Johnson & Johnson, Liebherr Group, Nokia, OSI Foods and Osram, as well as other German SME champions of industry engaged in sectors spanning automotive, precision engineering, consulting services, electronics, legal, pharma, and constriction and architecture.
As a conclusion to this edition of the programme, the formal award dinner and certificate presentation were held at Pembroke Suites, St Julian鈥檚. Fine wines, specially paired with the various menu courses, were kindly offered by Emmanuel Delicata Winemaker.
