Upon the invitation of the Holy See and the Commission of the Bishops’ Conferences of the EU (COMECE) and on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the treaties of Rome, Dr Marie Briguglio was invited to address the participants at a two day dialogue on «(Re-) Thinking Europe», was held at the Synod Aula, the Vatican, Rome.
Dr Briguglio contributed to the question "What kind of Economy for Europe in a Changing World? .
Delegations, consisting of high representatives of the Catholic Church, of the ecumenical partners, of politicians, academics and young people were present at the event, including a Maltese delegation led by Archbishop Scicluna. The event was also attended by Pope Francis.
