On Tuesday 17 April 2018, the Faculty of Theology held its annual Faculty Day. This year's event was entitled 'Two Islands: One Big Ocean' and was coordinated by the Department of Pastoral Theology, Liturgy and Canon Law within the same Faculty and the University Chaplaincy.

Held at St Patrick's, Sliema, the Faculty Day opened with a moment of prayer and two short presentations: one given by Rev. Mark Cachia, SJ, the current University Chaplain, and another by Dr Pauline Dimech, a lecturer within the Department responsible for the event. Both speakers provided information concerning the services offered by the two entities. These presentations were followed by the keynote address, given by Rev. Eric Cachia, SDB, on the dynamic of cooperation and collaboration between the Faculty and the Chaplaincy.
The students and members of staff present participated in different workshops that delved deeper into the topic and explored the convergent and divergent aspects of the two institutions. Toward the end of the plenary session, Rev. Dr Carl-Mario Sultana, Head of the Department of Pastoral Theology, Liturgy and Canon Law, shared his concluding remarks and the event came to an end with a reception, during which the participants could converse freely.
