The research activities of the Department of Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics, University of Malta contributed to the recent annual British Pharmacological Society meeting held in London in December 2018. This meeting is the British Pharmacological Society's flagship annual meeting and attracts over 1,000 scientists each year from across the world.
During this meeting Dr Vanessa Magri Petroni was invited to give an oral presentation on her ongoing research which considers targeting multiple pathways in solid tumours for augmented efficacy. Ms Francesca Camilleri, Masters graduate under the supervision of Prof. Anthony Fenech, presented a poster on the influence of roflumilast combinatory treatment on COPD-related molecular targets.
Prof .Janet Mifsud, who is a Fellow of the British Pharmacological Society, was asked to contribute to the evaluation of Poster Presentations and was also asked to Chair the session on Education and Skills. Alongside world-class research, this meeting offered excellent networking opportunities for attendees to network and exchange research results and reinforced the University of Malta鈥檚 international contribution to this important speciality.
