Dr Stefano Moncada has been selected as a lead author of the Mediterranean Experts on Climate and Environmental Change (MedECC), co-leading the chapter on development and economic impacts.
The MedECC met in Milan, from 4 to 7 March 2019, to finalise the first MedECC assessment report (MAR1) and move towards an improved scientific assessment of climate and environmental change and their consequences in the Mediterranean Basin.
The MedECC is supported by a series of institutions and international organizations, among which the United Nations Mediterranean Action Plan, the Union for the Mediterranean, the French National Research Institute for Sustainable Development and the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency. Dr. Moncada is a member of the academic staff based at the Institute for European Studies, board member of the Islands and Small States Institute and focal point of the Climate Change Platform of the University of Malta.
