His Eminence Cardinal Prospero Grech and Rev. Dr Jonathan Farrugia
  
Rev. Dr Jonathan Farrugia from the Faculty of Theology attended the celebrations marking the 50th anniversary from the foundation of the Augustinian Patristics Institute in Rome. Dr Farrugia is the first Maltese national to obtain a doctorate from this prestigious institution which is the foremost institute in the world offering specialised historical-critical studies on early Christian literature and philology.
  The Augustinian Patristics Institute was founded on 14 February 1969 in the wake of Vatican II鈥檚 encouragement for a new, deeper appreciation of the Fathers. Its first President and co-founder was His Eminence Cardinal Prospero Grech.
