Dr AbouHussein鈥檚 meta-analysis showed that there appears to be a positive role for acupuncture treatment in the management of diabetic peripheral neuropathy, though further randomised controlled trials are necessary. The research follows the principles of investigating the role of integrative medicine in the management of different medical pathologies thus expanding the therapeutic tools of the contemporary practitioner.
