', a cancer researcher at the University of Malta’s Centre for Molecular Medicine & Biobanking, has recently been invited to act as a Guest Editor for a Special Issue of the Swiss-based scientific journal non-coding RNA (MDPI Publishers). The special issue, titled ‘Non-Coding RNAs Involved in Cancer Chemoresistance’, aims to consolidate all recent global research efforts focusing on specific non-coding RNA biomarker discovery and validation for use against chemotherapy drug resistance in cancer.
Dr Ayers holds a PhD in Translational Medicine from the University of Manchester and also holds a MSc degree in Immunology and Immunogenetics from the same university.
Moreover, Dr Ayers previously acted as a scientific Peer Reviewer for over 60 international peer-reviewed scientific journals, including Scientific Reports, PlosOne, Tumour Biology, Oncotarget, Cancer Letters and the European Journal of Cancer.
He is co-editing the Special Issue with Dr Ali Rihani from the Karolinska Institute, based in Stockholm, Sweden.
