UM spin-out FLASC has been nominated for the Best Innovation Award at the Offshore Energy Exhibition & Conference (OEEC 2020) for their work on energy storage technology tailored for offshore applications. This is one of the most important events in the Offshore Energy sector, and it is also a great achievement for FLASC given that only three innovations are shortlisted for the Award.
Voting closes on the 5 October.
FLASC is an energy storage device that can be integrated directly into a floating offshore platform. Energy is stored using a hydro-pneumatic liquid piston, driven by a reversible pump-turbine.
