For the ninth day, there has been an unprecedented destruction of the highest value, that is - human life, where thousands of civilians have already died, including 28 children in Ukrainian cities and villages! The occupying enemy does not shun anything - from the meanness of the bombing of residential (civilian not military) areas and houses, as well as hospitals, kindergartens and houses, maternity hospitals, hospitals, schools, universities, churches, buildings of municipal services and local and state self-government (some of them are of historical value) to the killing of civilians, the shooting of ambulances, looting (shops, banks, private buildings and civilians), the bombing of the Europe's largest Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant, which will lead to the greatest man-made disaster of our time.
All these riots have already led to a humanitarian catastrophe in some regions of Ukraine, including Donetsk region, where we live. Mariupol is under siege and has been without water, electricity, heat or any connection for several days. A curfew has been declared throughout the region and air alerts are being heard, and the enemy is inflicting merciless air strikes on civilians with vacuum and cluster bombs and multiple rocket launchers prohibited by the Geneva Conventions, destroying our peaceful life!
Currently, I am with my family in Kramatorsk (the city from which the occupation of Donetsk region, but which remained on the territory controlled by Ukraine and became a kind of administrative centre), located between Kharkiv and Mariupol, and my colleagues are in Mariupol. As an expert of the National Agency for Higher Education Quality Assurance.
Sincerely,
Ostap Bodyk
