The Knowledge Transfer Office (KTO) was represented at the AUTM 2022 General Meeting, by the Director of the KTO, Dr Ing. Anton Bartolo, Managers Ing. Michelle Cortis and , and Executive Ms Marie Mifsud.
The conference was held from the 20 until the 24 February 2022 in New Orleans, United States. is a non-profit leader in efforts to educate, promote and inspire professionals to support the development of academic research that changes the world and drives innovation forward. The community is comprised of more than 3,000 members who work in more than 800 universities, research centres, hospitals, businesses and government organizations around the globe.
The active participation in international peer networks, provide the KTO with the opportunity to discuss cases with experienced business developers, innovation managers and the industry.
The KTO is missioned to support the University in enhancing its commercial, environmental and socio-economic impact on a national and international level, and these networks assist the KTO in this regard. The office strives to keep up with the latest trends and share best practices, in order to create impact with University鈥檚 research results.
Ms Marie Mifsud also had the opportunity to be part of a panel as a speaker discussing Accessibility Technologies and brainstorm with like-minded individuals on creating social impact. After two years of virtual attendance, it was great to connect with other technology transfer professionals from around the world and industry leaders with the aim to continuously develop the UM鈥檚 Knowledge Transfer Office.
