from the University of Malta has been elected to the position of Secretary/Treasurer of the ACM Special Interest Group on Hypertext and the Web from 1 July 2023 up to 30 June 2025.
The Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) is the world's largest educational and scientific computing society, delivering resources that advance computing as a science and as a profession. It brings together computing educators, researchers, and professionals to inspire dialogue, share resources, and address the field's challenges. The special interest groups reflect a subdiscipline within the computing society.
The Special Interest Group on Hypertext and the Web (SIGWEB) focuses on hypertext and social media, document engineering, information and knowledge management, as well as web search and data mining. Dr Bonnici was asked to stand for election in the SIGWEB executive committee through her involvement in the symposium on document engineering (DocEng) for which she serves as a member of the steering committee and has taken the role of program chair on three occasions.
