The University of Malta has hosted the first SEA-EU General Communications Week in Malta on the 30 and 31 May 2023 for the , where over 40 people attended the meeting. Experts attended from all 9 partner universities including the University of Malta, the University of Cadiz (Spain), the University of Western Brittany (Brest, France), Kiel University (Germany), the University of Gdansk (Poland), the University of Split (Croatia), Parthenope University of Naples (Italy), University of Algarve (Portugal) and Nord University (Bodo, Norway).
This is a crucial meeting for the Identity and Communication of the SEA-EU Alliance. During these 2 days, communication experts have discussed the re-branding of SEA-EU and have chosen the new branding of the alliance which will be launched during the SEA-EU Governing Week in Gdansk at the end of June. This event was also the first meeting of the science communication expert group, which brought together experts from each university to discuss the state of the art at each university as a baseline for the next 4 years and opportunities to work together.
The host is UM鈥檚 SEA-EU Office which just had been established and is led by Maria Grima Calleja, together with her team, Tamara Micallef, Fernanda Giraldo Guzman, Isabella Bianco and Stefania Zdral. UM attendees included Pierre Cassar, Director of the Marketing, Communications & Alumni Office and his team, James Moffett, Gabriel Izzo and Nicole Pace as part of UM鈥檚 communication experts and Dr Edward Duca and Danielle Martine Farrugia as science communication experts.
