Prof. Sergio Portelli, Head of the Department of Translation, Terminology and Interpreting Studies of the Faculty of Arts, recently gave a series of lectures at Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Beijing Foreign Studies University. This served not only as an opportunity to provide knowledge to the students, but also as an exercise in intercultural communication and alternative pedagogical strategy since Chinese students have a different way of acquiring, expressing and implementing concepts from their Western counterparts.
The visit also strengthened collaboration with the two universities and established links with the relevant departments and schools at Fudan University and Shanghai International Studies University.
