Groups of students from local secondary schools have visited the Mediterranean Regional Centre for Traditional Chinese Medicine in Paola, in order to learn about traditional Chinese medicine and healing arts.
For most of them, this was their first experience with Traditional Chinese medicine.
Mr Chai Xiaoxiao, a Chinese teacher from the Centre for Traditional Chinese Medicine at the University of Malta, who also teaches Chinese language to students at the St Aloysius College Secondary School, said the students were thrilled to learn about cupping, acupuncture, moxibustion, Taichi, Baduanjin, as well as the medicinal function of various herbs.
Over the past thirty years, the Mediterranean Regional Centre for Traditional Chinese Medicine has grown to become a prestigious medical and training institution in Malta and the Mediterranean region.
