Dr Carmel Serracino, who currently heads the Department of Classics & Archaeology within the University’s Faculty of Arts, is also very well-known in the local art scene for his watercolour paintings.
The two (Art and Teaching) often merge because he loves integrating art in his lectures and research endeavours.
Films are a major inspiration for him, also carrying a nostalgic element of years gone by.
After losing touch with art, meeting his now-wife gave him the stability he needed to rediscover the spark.
“If one needs to make it in Art, they need spark, talent, a degree of luck as well as unflagging determination and incessant work”, is the advice he gives to budding artists.
