On 27 November, a group of students from the Junior College Seismic Monitoring Group visited the Seismic Monitoring and Research Group at the Department of Geosciences. During their visit, they explored the seismology lab, where they learned about the real-time seismic and tsunami monitoring systems and gained insights into the group鈥檚 research activities, including work conducted at the geophysics laboratory. Some of the students used this experience as part of their Systems of Knowledge project.
The students also had the opportunity to visit one of the seismic stations within the Malta Seismic Network, located on the University campus grounds.
The Junior College Seismic Monitoring group is an Enrichment Programme Unit coordinated by Mr Alexander Vella for students who are interested in learning about Earth Sciences, focusing mainly on geophysics and seismology.
