On International Mother Language Day, which is celebrated every year on 21 February, Prof. Michael Spagnol, a lecturer within the Department of Maltese at the University of Malta, narrates the History of Maltese in 5 Words.
This day was established by UNESCO in 1999 and has been celebrated since 2000 with the aim of promoting linguistic diversity and education in the mother language.
