On Friday 25 April, 36 administrative and academic staff members of the Faculty of Health Sciences (FHS) gathered at Ta’ Qali National Park for a lively team-building event organised by the Social Activities Committee. In response to the team’s ongoing efforts to promote wellbeing, collaboration, and connection among colleagues, the event aimed to foster team spirit through shared experience and light-hearted competition.
The day began with a relaxed meet-and-coffee session, followed by a celebration of April and May staff birthdays. A beautiful birthday cake, generously provided by Pierre Demicoli, was enjoyed alongside fresh fruit from Mr Nathan Vella of Fresh by Ella and croissants sponsored by Mr Marvin Abela of Welbees Campus Hub.
Staff were then divided into five teams—Dolphins, Whales, Seals, Sharks, and Penguins—each led by a team captain. Activities included a spirited quiz and a dynamic photo hunt, encouraging participation and teamwork in a casual and supportive atmosphere.
The teams were as follows:
- Team Dolphin (Captain: Anne Marie Debono Hollyoak)
- Team Penguin (Captain: Christabel Vella)
- Team Whale (Captain: Christie Hili)
- Team Shark (Captain: Clayton John Axiak)
- Team Seal (Captain: Stephen Lungaro Mifsud)
Organised by committee members Christie Attard, Marika Spagnol, Sarah Cachia, Sarah Anne Falzon, and Marthese Gauci, the event was warmly received and proved to be a fun and refreshing break from the usual routine. Building on this success, the Social Activities Committee at FHS looks forward to more opportunities that promote staff engagement, wellbeing, and community.
