JCI Malta recently held the finals of its second national edition of the ‘Creative Young Entrepreneur’ (CYE) competition—an initiative forming part of a broader international programme promoting young entrepreneurial talent.

Following mentoring and a series of workshops, the finale showcased innovation, energy and purpose. Finalists presented business ideas that integrated sustainability and social impact, covering areas such as tech services, mobility solutions, fashion streetwear, and community engagement concepts.

A panel of business leaders and seasoned professionals judged the five finalists and also offered mentoring and feedback. Dr Nathaniel Massa from the University of Malta’s was invited to adjudicate at the final.

 The Judging Panel included:

The top three finalists received awards that included additional training and coaching. First prize winner Marcos Mendez will now compete with his business idea at the JCI CYE European Conference in Denmark this June.

UM FEMA Executive MBA Alumnus: Two-Time CYE International Finalist

University of Malta alumnus Markus Behmann, a graduate of the FEMA Executive MBA (Class of 2018–19), was a two-time CYE international finalist at the global congress competition—first in Bruges (2022) and again in Zurich (2023). He had taken the Entrepreneurship and Innovation elective with Dr Massa from the Department of Business & Enterprise Management.
