Ph.D. fellowship: 鈥淭he Role of SK Channels in Healthy and Fibrillating Atria
The overall aim of the project is to elucidate the contribution of SK channels to human atrial electrophysiology and intracellular calcium dynamics through exploitation of state-of-the-art simulations. By using this novel SK current in silico platform, the effectiveness of SK channels as drug targets for treatment of AF will be addressed.
Ph.D. fellowship in "In silico model of AF"
This project aims at identifying the underlying mechanisms of the progression of AF via computer modeling approaches incorporating the results of associated experimental and clinical studies. The overall aim of the project is to elucidate the contribution of altered calcium dynamics and electrophysiology to the AF phenotype at different stages of disease progression: paroxysmal to persistent to permanent.
