The Government of Japan is offering one(1) two-year scholarship to a Maltese graduate student who wishes to study at a Japanese University as a research student under the Japanese Government Scholarship Programme for the academic years 2017-2019 (April 2017 - March 2019), in various subjects within the field of Culture, Sports, Science and Technology. Subjects must be one of those available at Japanese Universities. One copy of the explanatory note, the application form, the application attachment, the field of study and study program, the recommendation form and the certificate of health are needed.
Applicants must be willing to learn the Japanese language, interested in Japan and enthusiastic about deepening his/her understanding of Japan after arriving and capable of engaging in study and research while adapting himself/herself to life in Japan. Applicants are also required to contact a professor of the Japanese university where they wish to study and obtain a letter of acceptance.

The deadline to submit all documentation is by not later than noon of Wednesday 24 June 2016.
Successful candidates may be required to enter into a contract to serve the Government or the Private Sector of Malta upon completion.
Applications from Government and Parastatal employees and from the Private Sector will not be considered unless recommended by their Head of Department/Employer respectively.
Late applications will not be considered.
The Board's decision will be final.
