The Department of Translation, Terminology and Interpreting Studies is hosting an information session on translation grants organised by the Arts Council Malta.
Formerly known as 'Spreading Words', the aims to support the translation of creative writing, ranging from books to films, for international distribution. The objective of this grant is to increase the visibility of Maltese creative writers on international platforms, and to help creative writing in the Maltese language to access international markets and audiences. The grant addresses the translation of literature, film scripts, animation scripts, creative documentaries by Maltese audiovisual companies or Maltese TV stations and subtitling, surtitling of dramatic works, and the translation of TV drama.
An information session will take place on Friday 30 September at 18:00 at the Faculty of Arts Library, Old Humanities Building (2nd floor) at the University of Malta. Dr Immanuel Mifsud and Dr Albert Gatt will be the guest speakers for this session.
