The Institute for PE and Sport (IPES) is taking part in an Erasmus+ project aiming to develop an innovative European Sport Tutorship Model for the dual career of athletes (ESTPORT), thus enabling student-athletes to reach their full potential in both the sport and academic spheres.
During the last academic year, eight students and three tutors from the University of Malta took part in a pilot project; this year the project will include a larger number of students.
IPES is inviting University staff (academic and non-academic), interested in supporting student-athletes, to attend a meeting to discuss the project. The intention is to have at least one tutor from every faculty. The commitment required for this tutorship involves a only few hours during each semester, to support the student-athletes.
date: Friday 7 October
from 12:00 to 12:30 meeting for tutors at the IPES boardroom
from 12:30 to 13:15 meeting for student-athletes at the IPES main lecture hall (including refreshments)
