The Embassy of Spain in Malta has the honour to convey the summoning of a special language assistant programme which is offered to English native speakers willing to spend a semester in Valencia, Spain.
The language and culture assistant programme is an initiative of the Spanish Ministry of Education. The programme is primarily devoted to foreign students that have a bilingual proficiency in English and are interested in Spanish language and culture or teachers who want to retrain in Spanish. No official qualification in Spanish language is needed and candidates must possess a university degree or be in their final year in college at the end of the current academic year.
Students will spend a semester, January to June of 2018, in Spain. The 1000 English language assistant positions are in Comunidad de Valencia, in primary schools.
Its main objective is to provide foreign students with the opportunity to teach English in Spain in primary schools (16 hours a week). This programme also allows Spanish students the opportunity to get to know a different culture by interacting with English native speakers.
The programme includes a monthly stipend of 1000€ to cover accommodation expenses, a medical insurance and an orientation course on arrival. Transportation from and to the country of origin will depend on the selected candidates.
Candidates must express their interest in participating by submitting an email before 28 August 2017 to emb.valletta@maec.es with the following information:
- Name and surname
- ID number
- Level of studies: finished university studies or last year of university studies
