The European Patent Office is offering UM graduates the opportunity to participate in a paid one year work-experience in either office, commencing in September 2020.
The European Patent Office (EPO) is the organ of the intergovernmental European Patent Organisation which carries out the task of granting European patents, including drawing up European search reports and examination of European Patent applications.
The PES traineeship is a 12 months programme and it aims at young graduates, who have obtained a full undergraduate/master's degree or its equivalent no later than two years prior to the date of the application, or are currently enrolled in PhD studies.Graduates. Interested applicants must first notify their respective Heads of Department of their application, specifying which entity you are interested in applying for. These will then be reviewed and shortlisted. This list of shortlisted candidates will then be submitted by the UM to the EPO and EUIPO. It is vital that interested applicants communicate their interest to their respective departments by the morning on Wednesday 13 May at the latest.
Candidates are to also submit their applications through the e-recruitment tool between the 1 April and 18 May. The tools can be accessed . Only those candidates who have been shortlisted and proposed by the UM will be reviewed by the respective offices. Please be aware of the documents requested to be submitted together with the application, as well as the EPO timeline to complete the e-learning courses.
