This call for papers for a Special Edition seeks submissions concerning research and practice in the counselling and psychotherapy field addressing international counselling.
Interest in international counselling research and practice is growing, owing to ever-changing cultural landscapes and the effects of globalisation. Given the evolving nature of international counselling, it is important to platform existing theory and knowledge in addition to disseminating groundbreaking research among counselling researchers and practitioners for best practices.
The goals of this special edition are: (1) to open a space for dialogue and raise awareness and reflexivity in relation to the profession's identity, as well as international counselling training, supervision, research and practice, and (2) to stimulate further international counselling theory, training, research and practice.
Contributors are invited to send submissions in any aspect of counselling that can offer an international perspective. Of interest are submissions in:
- Counsellor training, practice and supervision
- Counselling supervisors’ training, practice and supervision
- Challenges arising from international settings
- International perspectives and research in counselling
- Intranational and international similarities and differences in international counselling, and
- Cross-national comparison of counselling and counselling supervision approaches.
Those interested in submitting an article to the Special Edition are encouraged to write to the Guest Editor, Dr Dione Mifsud, no later than 1 April 2020, with a tentative title and a working abstract of 500 words maximum. Successful authors will be notified by email and invited to submit a first draft of manuscript by 1 September 2020.
Manuscript should be no longer than 7,500 words (including footnotes, references, tables, and figures, but excluding the abstract), and include a 250-word structured abstract.
