With over 30 years of experience recognised as an international centre of excellence in islands and small state studies, the Institute allows its students to specialise in different areas such as economics, political science, sociology, environmental science and cooperate with key research centres globally.
Researchers are invited to send their expression of interest, especially for research proposals in the area of economic development and climate change applied to islands and small states, and are willing to explore further areas. Further information can be obtained .
Eligible candidates should have a doctoral degree or 4 years of experience since obtaining a university agree giving access to doctoral studies.
Eligible candidates must not have resided in Malta for more than 12 months since September 2017, and be in possession of the general requirements of the Horizon 2020 MSCA-IF programme.
