- Graduate students are invited to express their interest for a full time M.Sc. by research post (duration of 3 semesters, starting in the Academic year of 2020/2021).
- Students must be in possession of a Second Class Honours degree, ideally in one of the following areas: Applied Biomedical Science, Biology and Chemistry, Food Sciences, Pharmacology, or any other relevant degree in Science.
- An excellent level of English language and literacy.
- The bench fees for this project have been waived. Students are liable to pay only tuition fees of €400 per annum.

- The graduate student will be trained and will execute a number of tasks related to a collaborative project between the Department of Food Science and Nutrition (Faculty of Health Sciences) and the Centre for Biomedical Cybernetics. The M.Sc. student will work in some key innovations in the development of is traceability and authenticity control tools of traditional high-value Mediterranean foods such as cheese and honey, using latest analytical and software technologies. The overall objectives will be to (i) development of adulterated cheese and honey models (ii) assessment of model food products using classical analytical or microbial techniques such as HPLC or plate counting and (iii) implementation of hyperspectral image analysis for the identification of adulterated model food products. The activities of this work will be achieved through collaboration with Mediterranean academic institutes and SMEs as part of the MEDIFIT PRIMA project.
