Launched by the Malta Council for Science & Technology, the Horizon 2020 Awards will reward Maltese beneficiaries for having participated in research and innovation projects within the Horizon 2020 Framework Programme.
The aim of these awards is to recognise and celebrate outstanding projects that through their results have transcended benefits to the scientific research community, policy makers and society as a whole.
Moreover, the awards will demonstrate the socio-economic benefits of investment in R&I and aim to increase participation from Maltese entities in the next EU Framework Programme for research and innovation, Horizon Europe, which will be launched in 2021.
The scheme will recognise achievements in nine different award categories:
- Best Impact for Health
- Security or Smart Mobility Award
- The Climate Award
- Gender and Culture Award
- Equality or Citizen Science Award
- Best Innovative SME Award
- Best Promotion of STEM Award
- Best Technological Innovation Award
- Most Active Researcher Award
The Horizon 2020 Awards will provide the winners with visibility within the local research community and beyond. The award prize for each category is €5,000.
The scheme is open as from 26 October and interested parties should apply with the application forms found . Applicants need to submit their completed and signed application form to MCST before the closing of Horizon 2020 Awards on 16 November at noon, 12:00 CET.
Application form, evaluation results and/or a copy of the Grant Agreement details are to be sent in digital formal to this email.
Award winners will be announced before the end of the year.
