The project "Perspectives on the human quest for existential meaning" has ignited a dialogue between theists and atheists using theatre as the starting point.
The performance of John Pielmeier's Agnes of God provided a space of encounter with the strangeness of "the other" and the subsequent discussions and feedback indicate that to different extents, the aim was reached (follow to the project report).
At this stage, the core team of six academics behind the project are in communication with the Pastoral Formation Institute and the Malta Humanist Association to explore ways forward including combinations of art, theology, philosophy, and entertainment.
This note is an open invitation for any academics who are interested in forms of collaboration - including possibly joining this project. The team is already multidisciplinary (including theatre, theology, psychology, philosophy, and computer science) and we would like to expand this network even further (any discipline is welcome!) to continue exploring exciting projects and ideas.
