The is an initiative by the European commission which aims to encourage European researchers to pursue excellence across a broad range of nuclear sciences and technologies, possibly with wider applications, to the huge challenges of fusion.
The name SOFT stands for Symposium on Fusion Technologies, the conference where the prize will be awarded. The prizes are as follows:
- 1st Place - EUR 50,000
- 2nd Place - EUR 30,000
- 3rd Place - EUR 20,000
