A Call is being published for the provision of expert services in relation with the capitalisation of citizen science campaigns formulated within the HARMONY and SENHAR projects, as dictated within the CAPSENHAR Application Form, over the September-October 2023 period.
Applications are invited for an external expert to work on CAPSENHAR, a project financed by the InterregV-A Programme, in which the University of Palermo is the Lead Partner (Coordinator) and the University of Malta is a partner, with as Principal Investigator at the UM on this project.
1. The main tasks of the engaged expert include the following:
- Conduction of activities related to the citizen science campaign on marine plastics (“P come pesce non Plastica” ) developed within the SENHAR project as Output 2.1, within the Ghar Lapsi-Filfla (Malta) and the Il-Ponta tal-Ħotba u Tal-Fessej (Gozo) MPAs, as dictated within the CAPSENHAR Application Form. Type activities might include demonstrations in the field of technologies such as NIR spectroscopy and the ANDROMEDA smart phone app, seminars, talks and workshops with selected stakeholders, online/digital campaigns (including ones on social media) and the development of printed material, in close liaison with Prof. Deidun’s team at the UM.
e. Should be fluent in both Maltese and English.
3. The engagement will last for a maximum of ONE AND A HALF (1.5) MONTHS from receipt of appointment letter, over the September-October 2023 period. The total for the rendered service will be 3000€ ex vat. Payment will be transferred by the University of Malta payable against the issuance of a VAT invoice by the selected candidate once the requested service, upon successful completion of all tasks, as certified by Prof. Alan Deidun (CAPSENHAR Principal Investigator at the University of Malta).
