The ocean plays a crucial role in our lives, providing us with food, oxygen, and countless other resources. However, its health is increasingly threatened by pollution, overfishing, and climate change. Let's make waves together for a healthier, more prosperous oceanic future!
A recently-established collaboration between the Oceanography Malta Research Group (OMRG) of the and the SEA-EU Office at UM, represented by , and the Parliamentary Secretariat for Youth, Research and Innovation, offers an opportunity for UM students to turn their ideas into reality through the Blue Economy Student Research Grants.
Whether your interests lie in marine technology, sustainable fisheries, coastal tourism, or ocean conservation, this initiative has a place for you. The Open Call invites submissions in different Blue Economy thematics, as long as they align with the objectives.
Promising proposals will receive a maximum research grant of max. €3,000 each, enabling recipients to kickstart their projects and bring their ideas to life. Projects should be structured to unfold over a period of up to six months and a minimum of three research grants will be awarded to submitted student proposals through this collaboration.
Proposals are to be submitted before 20 May 2024!
