Research ethics: ​information letters and consent forms for ​adults​ with language impairments
Research participants have the right to information prior to giving consent​​. Researchers who intend to collect data from participants ​with possible expressive and/or receptive language​ or communication​ impairments, as in the case of stroke-induced aphasia,​ should use aphasia-friendly​ information letters and consent forms​.​
Maltese and English templates of such information letters and consent forms are now available, courtesy of the​ National Institute of Health Research (NIHR, UK).
