'I didn鈥檛 expect this outcome!' 'This shouldn鈥檛 have happened!' 'Why did I get this grade?' 'I鈥檝e studied so much - why have I failed at this exam?' 'Things seemed to be going so well - why am I suddenly being ignored by my love interest?' 'I really wanted that job!'
At one point or another, we are all bound to experience disappointment, a phenomenon often described as the gap between our expectations and reality. Many-a-times the resulting feelings of pain and sadness can be unbearable.
Nonetheless, such circumstances and their resulting emotions provide us with invaluable information which is crucial to self-growth. During the upcoming seminar, Dealing with Disappointment, organised by the Counselling Unit we will be discussing how to navigate uncertainties and disappointing outcomes in order for them to serve as opportunities for growth rather than allowing such situations to crush our spirit.
Dates: Wednesday 14 or Friday 16 March
Time: 12:00 - 13:00
Venue: Traditional Chinese Medicine Building (outside old campus gate) Room 7
Speaker: Ms Charmaine Dalli
