What's new in OAR@UM
Newest additions in the collection of Maltese Journals
We are happy to inform you that another two Maltese periodicals have been digitized and added in OAR@UM, further expanding the journal collection.
滨濒-骋偶别箩箩别谤, published by the Department of 福利在线免费 (Malta) between 1972 and 1987, is a journal concerning local government initiatives, projects, policies, debates and administration.
Il Barth: gazzetta di medicina e scienze naturali, published by Tipografia del Corriere between 1871 and 1975, consists of original articles in Italian on medical and natural history subjects, as well as synopsis of the latest most important discoveries in medicine and surgery in Malta.
Open Access Fact of the Month
Apart from the gratis-libre division mentioned previously, Open Access can be also divided into Green OA and Gold OA. The former refers to the practice of publishing a paper in a conventional venue, typically in a subscription-based peer-reviewed journal, and at the same time, making a copy of this paper freely available by self-archiving on a personal website, website of the affiliated research institution, or in an institutional repository. The latter option entails publishing in an Open Access journal which itself ensures the free availability of the content on its website. The Green/Gold distinction therefore specifies concrete ways of enacting Open Access to research outputs.
