Horizon 2020 Call for Sklodowska-Curie Individual Fellowships
The goal of the Individual Fellowships is to enhance the creative and innovative potential of experienced researchers, wishing to diversify their individual competence in terms of skill acquisition through advanced training, international and intersectoral mobility. Individual Fellowships provide opportunities to researchers of any nationality to acquire and transfer new knowledge and to work on research and innovation in Europe (EU Member States and Horizon 2020 Associated Countries) and beyond.

Blue Bio 2020 Call
The Blue Bio 2020 Call is now open. The call is targeted to fund projects focusing on supply systems in the blue economy such as logistics and transportation – from harvesting to processing. Entities with an operating base in Malta are eligible to apply and participate in transnational R&I projects. Eligible consortia shall need to have at least 3 partners from 3 different participating countries and at least one needs to come from industry.
The Call text and the National Rules for Participation are available . National Applicants are also requested to submit a National Application Form (which will be uploaded shortly).
The pre-proposal submission deadline is 14 September 2020. Applications should reach the RSSD office until 28 August 2020, to allow adequate time for processing.

Erasmus+ 2020 Programme
The Erasmus+ 2020 call proposals has now been published! Erasmus+ is the main funding programme for the Education of the EU. The programme is split into 3 Key Actions:
Key Action 1 - Closed
Key Action 2 - Cooperation for innovation and the exchange of good practices
Strategic partnerships in the field of education, training and youth
These support innovation in the sector as well as joint initiatives to promote cooperation, peer learning and the sharing of experience.

Key Action 3 - Support for policy reform
This aims to increase the participation of young people in democratic life, especially in discussions with policy makers, as well as developing knowledge in the fields of education, training, and youth.

COST Actions
COST creates spaces where scientists are in the driving seat (bottom-up) and ideas can grow through a flexible and open approach. By enabling researchers from academia, industry and the public and private sector to work together in open networks that transcend borders, COST helps to advance science, stimulates knowledge sharing and pools resources.
COST Actions is a network dedicated to scientific collaboration, complementing national research funds. COST Actions are:
- open to researchers and innovators
- collaborating in a field of science and technology of common interest to at least seven COST Members/Cooperating Members
- based on a joint work programme lasting four years
- answering to the COST Open Call for proposals.

MSCT COVID-19 R&D Fund
The World Health Organisation has declared COVID-19 as a Public Health Emergency of International Concern according to the International Health Regulations.
The Malta Council for Science and Technology and Malta Enterprise Corporation have reached to the challenges surrounding the current unprecedented circumstances by designing a national fund entitled the “COVID-19 R&D Fund”. This initiative has been possible through the support of the Ministry for Finance and Financial , and the Ministry for the Economy, Investment and Small Businesses.
